Postdoctoral fellowship at the Hospital for Sick Children
Dr Pullenayegum's research group is part of the Research Institute at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. We are housed in the Peter Gilgan Centre for Research and Learning, designed specifically to foster collaboration. You will work alongside researchers from diverse fields (clinical epidemiology, health economics, haemotology, paediatric rheumatology, amongst others), thus allowing you to discover the statistical challenges that these researchers experience and to foster cross-disciplinary communication skills.
Here's What You'll Get To Do:
- Develop methods for analysing longitudinal data subject to irregular observation;
- Study parametric survival models for estimating population health utilities;
- Write papers on the methods you develop;
- Participate in national conferences;
- Work in a vibrant research environment
Here's What You'll Need:
- Completed a PhD in statistics or biostatistics (essential);
- Experience with functional data analysis (essential);
- Experience with modelling survival data (essential);
- Experience with parametric survival modelling (preferred);
- Sufficient R programming skills to write a software package (essential);
- Ability to write manuscripts suitable for peer-reviewed publication (essential);
- Enthusiasm for working as part of a team, in particular actively participating in team meetings, celebrating others' success, sharing knowledge, giving and asking for help (essential);
- A commitment to understanding and aiding in the pursuit of equity, diversity and inclusion objectives (essential).
Employment Type: Full-time temporary 1 year contract, 1.0 FTE
