Client onboarding requires collecting and verifying critical information via forms and other documents for CCMS setup. Any inaccuracies can lead to delays, compliance risks, or operational issues.
This role is hybrid (2 - 3 days/week in the office) - based in Toronto, ON.
Key Accountabilities:
Accelerates Client Onboarding: A dedicated specialist ensures timely portal access, test case execution, and smooth end-to-end trade simulation.
Improves Client Experience: Centralized coordination and communication reduces delays, improves first impressions, and builds confidence in the platform.
Mitigates Operational Risk: A consistent resource managing testing timelines, waivers, and readiness checks helps avoid missed deadlines or untested scenarios.
Relieves Capacity Constraints: Currently, our internal team is stretched across onboarding, production, and testing support—limiting our ability to scale.
1. Ensuring Accurate Client Setup
Purpose: Client onboarding requires collecting and verifying critical information via forms and other documents for CCMS setup. Any inaccuracies can lead to delays, compliance risks, or operational issues.
Impact: The specialist works with the RM team to ensure clients receive the correct forms based on their specific needs (e.g., account-level restrictions, SWIFT details). They also act as a second set of eyes to confirm all details are filled out correctly, preventing errors during the onboarding process.
2. Supporting RM Team Coordination
Purpose: The RM team often serves as the primary client contact but may not have detailed expertise in technical setup or specific CCMS requirements.
Impact: The onboarding specialist bridges this gap by:
Validating forms for accuracy and completeness.
Providing clear guidance to the RM team on what additional details or supporting documents are required from clients.
Reducing back-and-forth communication with clients
3. Support for a Complex Ecosystem
Purpose: CCMS involves multiple stakeholders, including custodians, counterparties, banks, and financial institutions, each with unique requirements and system configurations.
Impact: A specialist ensures that each client’s specific workflows and technical setups integrate seamlessly into CCMS, minimizing disruptions during the onboarding phase
4. Facilitation of Real-Time Settlement
Purpose: CCMS aims to deliver benefits such as real-time continuous settlement and efficient collateral transfers.
Impact: A dedicated role ensures clients are fully prepared to leverage these features by completing testing and training prior to live trades, ensuring smooth execution.
5. Mitigation of Program Risks
Purpose: The CCMS implementation involves complex risk areas, including account-level restrictions, eligibility criteria, and trade lifecycle management.
Impact: The onboarding specialist mitigates risks by thoroughly validating client setups, test cases, and ensuring proper alignment with CCMS program requirements.
6. Enhanced Collaboration with Key Stakeholders
Purpose: CCMS requires input and cooperation from multiple teams, including IT, operations, product, and legal.
Impact: The specialist coordinates between teams to ensure all client requirements are addressed during onboarding, with particular focus on key program milestones, such as GTE1.
7. Scalability for Future Expansions
Purpose: CCMS is expected to onboard multiple clients, potentially including new counterparties, custodians, and dealers.
Impact: A structured onboarding and testing approach, led by a specialist, ensures scalability without compromising the quality of client experiences.
8. Minimizing Operational Disruptions
Purpose: Any issue in CCMS can have ripple effects on trades, settlements, and downstream processes.
Impact: A dedicated onboarding and testing role identifies potential operational issues early, reducing disruptions and ensuring business continuity.
Must have:
3 - 5 years’ experience in the Canadian Securities Financial Industry and/or Global Markets
Hands-on experience with client onboarding and UAT/test coordination
Expert with Excel, Experience with MS Office
Ability to manage multiple client timelines simultaneously (8–10 clients in parallel)
Deep knowledge of settlement processes, securities movements, and operational flows
Proven stakeholder management across clients, ops, tech, and vendors
Clear, structured communication (translate complex issues into client-friendly language)
Strong issue triage + escalation management during testing cycles
Familiarity with test environments (e.g., GTE1/Z1), test case execution, defect tracking
Nice to Have:
Background in change management or large-scale transformation programs
Knowledge of messaging formats (e.g., SWIFT, ISO)

Ability to create onboarding playbooks, training materials, and self-serve guides
