Posting Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and self-driven Applications Specialist with deep experience across React, Node.js, and Azure SQL. In this role, you'll be responsible for translating product concepts and design work into a robust and maintainable web application.
You will design and build both the front-end experience and backend APIs, collaborate closely with our Product Designer, and contribute to architectural decisions that support long-term scalability. To thrive in this role, you must bring strong engineering craftsmanship, a passion for high-quality user experiences, and an ability to work in a fast-moving, collaborative environment.
Here's What You'll Get to Do:
- Build and maintain modern, responsive user interfaces using React.js
- Translate product designs, wireframes, and requirements into high-quality front-end and back-end code
- Design, implement, and optimize Node.js APIs and server-side logic
- Work with Azure SQL to define, manage, and query the application's data layer
- Create and maintain reusable components and libraries for long-term scalability
- Ensure UI components are optimized for performance across web-capable devices and browsers
- Collaborate closely with the Product Designer to refine UI/UX patterns, interactions, workflows, and technical feasibility
- Participate in architectural planning, code reviews, and continuous improvement of engineering practices
- Integrate RESTful APIs and ensure seamless communication across the full stack
- Contribute to DevOps workflows using tools such as Git, Jira, or similar technologies
Where's What You'll Need:
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or a related field
- 3+ years of professional development experience, including full-stack or software engineering roles
- Advanced proficiency in:
1. React.js (core principles, component lifecycle, modern hooks, React workflows)
2. Node.js (API development, backend logic, authentication patterns)
3. Azure SQL (schema design, query optimization, integration with application layer)
- Strong experience with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript
- Solid understanding of responsive design and accessible UI development
- Experience integrating with RESTful APIs and building maintainable backend services
- Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills
- Clear, proactive communication skills and ability to collaborate with designers and cross functional partners
Nice to Have (Assets)
- Prior experience building applications from 0 to 1
- Knowledge of design systems and component architecture
- Experience working with UX/UI teams or product designers
- Knowledge of infant and early mental health
Employment Type:
- Contract; Part-Time (21 hours/week)
