Posting Description

The Research Technologist II is responsible for applying technical knowledge and skills to perform moderately complex laboratory procedures and experiments.  Assignments will be broadly outlined and frequently require some theoretical insight, the interpretation of empirical data and the ability to find and extract pertinent information from technical literature.

Here's What You'll Get To Do

  • Be responsible for the organization of a project or the laboratory on a daily basis, either alone or with other employees
  • Perform a variety of technical assignments under general supervision
  • Occasionally modify procedures and design or create new procedures
  • Order supplies and equipment
  • Provide continuity and act as a source of information on a permanent basis
  • Take considerable responsibility for day-to-day running of lab and/or special projects
  • Exercise moderate independent judgment and decision-making using established policies and procedures to resolve technical problems
  • Follow established guidelines, procedures and standards
  • May provide functional supervision to junior lab staff
  • May be responsible for procedures performed by fellows, students or employees in the lab

Here's What You'll Need

  • Bachelor of Science degree
  • Two years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated competency in written and verbal communications
  • A commitment to understanding and aiding in the pursuit equity, diversity and inclusion objectives

Employment Type

Full time 1 year contract with modified benefits. Salary to be determined.
