The Ontario Pension Board (OPB) administers the Public Service Pension Plan (the PSPP), a major defined benefit pension plan sponsored by the Government of Ontario. About the role:

As a Service Support Intern (Pensions), reporting to the Manager, Client Services, you will gain hands on experience supporting the daily administration of the PSPP. In this role, you will learn and contribute to a variety of pension related administrative tasks, building foundational skills in client service and operational support, and gaining valuable exposure to pension administration. You’ll join a team of professionals committed to delivering exceptional client service in alignment with OPB’s Advise & Protect mission. Key Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the inputting and maintenance of data and information including preparation of letters within MS Office and pension administration systems.
• Review and process incoming requests and documents, and direct them to the appropriate workflow or team.
• Provide client service by contacting clients through various communication channels to gather and/or confirm information.
• Perform general administrative duties as required to support daily operations.

 

Key Qualifications: 
• Currently enrolled in, or a recent graduate (in the past 2 years) of post-secondary education. 
• Basic working knowledge of pension related lifecycles and processes.
• Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency with computer systems and databases such as MS Office, particularly Excel. 
• Good interpersonal and written communication skills to communicate effectively with clients and build collaborative relationships within the team and across the organization. 
• Demonstrated organizational and time management skills to complete work assignments within established timelines.  
• Demonstrated attention to detail and critical thinking skills to thoroughly review documentation for completeness and accuracy.
• Commitment to producing high quality work through consistency and accuracy.
