Through a rich exchange of ideas, meaningful collaboration, and a nimble operating model, we're powering some of the nation's most critical systems, fueling capital formation and innovation, bringing increased opportunity to business visionaries, product ingenuity to consumers, and career exploration to our team.

Ready to be part of the action?

GRC Senior Security Advisor to perform details outlined in the Job Description.

As a Senior Security Advisor at TMX Group, you aren't just checking boxes—you are a guardian of the infrastructure that powers the Canadian markets. Reporting to the Senior Manager of GRC, you will play a pivotal role in evolving our security posture. You’ll bridge the gap between complex technical risk and business resilience, ensuring that as TMX adopts AI, GenAI, and advanced cloud architectures, we do so with world-class integrity.

The Impact You’ll Make:

  • Architect Resilience: Drive the evolution of our Cybersecurity Policy Framework, tailoring security profiles to diverse business units and cutting-edge cloud environments.

  • Strategic Risk Management: Conduct high-stakes Threat and Risk Assessments (TRAs) on financial systems, balancing individual business unit needs with the enterprise risk appetite.

  • Innovate & Secure: Lead the charge in securing emerging technologies, including AI/GenAI frameworks, and integrating these into our NIST and ISO-aligned standards.

  • Build a Security Culture: Empower TMX teams through bespoke awareness programs and collaborative "Table Top" incident response exercises.

  • Privacy & Third-Party Oversight: Oversee the data protection lifecycle (GDPR, PIPEDA) and ensure our vendor ecosystem meets our rigorous security bar.

  • Translate Data into Strategy: Develop sophisticated KRIs and KPIs that provide leadership with a clear pulse on the organization's security health.

What You Bring:

  • The Foundation: A University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

  • The Experience: 5+ years in Information Security (Financial Market Infrastructure experience is your "ace in the hole").

  • The Toolkit: Mastery of TRAs, NIST, and ISO 27001. You understand that security is a business enabler, not a roadblock.

  • Future-Ready Mindset: A deep interest in Cloud security and the unique risks posed by AI/GenAI.

  • The "Power Skills": Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence both developers and executives.

  • The Extras: Professional designations (CISSP, CISA, CISM) and a knack for automation/Python will set you apart.

Salary Range: 120,000/year - 130,000/year CAD

Please note that the salary range included is a guideline only. The salary offered may vary based on factors, including, but not limited to, the successful candidate’s relevant knowledge, skills, and experience.
