Position Description
We are seeking a motivated Network Architect, a devoted problem solver responsible for project work related to the Media IP Transformation. Working on next generation network design, IP interconnection/routing, consultancy, implementation with technology stakeholders, product owners in Media and other parts of Bell. It involves participation in daily scrums, collaboration with team members to develop architecture design/documentation, as well engagement with Bell and Vendor technical teams as needed.
Network Architects are also responsible for guiding development as well as obtaining buy-in and acceptance of the technical architecture. They understand and predict from afar how all the pieces will fit together and identify potential issues and risks early on to develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans. The successful candidate will have advanced communication and negotiation skills, as well as an innate ability to simplify complex technology concepts and to plan, prioritize and seamlessly integrate all moving parts to deploy successful solutions.
Key Responsibilities
• Producing architectural documents that define, describe and specify solutions for committed projects using our core product as the foundational elements. Component diagrams and descriptions, sequence diagrams, and non-functional requirements are examples of the information expected in architectural documents.
• Responsible for delivering architecture material such as Software Architecture, Conceptual Architecture, Logical Architecture, System Architecture, Security Architecture etc.
• Work closely with development teams and external vendors, leading the creation of high-level designs that realize solutions
• Work closely with development managers and project managers to ensure successful delivery of solutions, focusing on ensuring that all committed customer requirements are met and are implemented according to high-level design
• Describe customer requirements and suggested enhancements to our core product teams to enable periodic integration of customer-specific solutions with the core products.
• Present the solution to delivery teams to ensure they understand the end-to-end solution and discover the feasibility of the solution
• Researching new technology and development approaches to remain abreast of current and emerging technologies
• A candidate with a solid grasp of the data networking sector and products.

• A resource who participates with their team to provide 24/7 coverage.
• Suggest enhancements to existing to improve customer experience based on investigation into customer issues
• Analyze and evaluate business and technical requirements from RFP/BRD and architect and design the proposed technology solution
• All other duties as assigned
Qualifications/ Competencies
• Educational Background in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Networking, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience.
• At least 5 years of experience designing service provider network infrastructures, at scale, analyzing, configuring, troubleshooting, designing complex enterprise networks
• In-depth knowledge of legacy and IP networks including advanced protocols in Routing (BGP, OSP, and MPLS) and Switching (STP, MLAG, VSS, and VPC).
• Familiarity in Broadcast technologies such as PTP, SMPTE 2110, SRT encode/decode, Multicasting for Audio & Video, etc.
• Experience with next generation firewall technology (Palo Alto, Check Point, Fortinet, etc.) desirable
• Experience with cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) network and/or security is desirable
• Familiar with Git repository and scripting tool such as Ansible with intent to automate reoccurring tasks.
• At least 2 years of technical writing and speaking skills
• Team and business leadership experience
• Able to understand high-level business needs and break it down to the technical level

Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
