In this role, you will :
- Provides program operational staff with up to date and relevant data, analysis, and reporting to aid in preparing both response and annual budgets for all revenues and expenditures.
- Reviews program response and annual budget submissions for completeness, accuracy, and reasonableness and collaborates to resolve any discrepancies or issues.
- Prepares related annual budget submission entries into the relevant database and reporting system.
- Ensures proper funding agreement financial structure set up, including but not limited to, bank accounts, trust funds, and financial dimension / billable coding, and that these are properly communication to relevant stakeholders.
- Identifies budgeting and projection deficiencies and recommends areas of improvement.
- Evaluates funds advanced to operational staff and the systems and controls in place to ensure completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of the related financial information being reported back
- Identifies risk exposure of programs and projects and provides scenarios and solutions to eliminate or mitigate these risks to program operational staff and senior management.
- Prepares monthly and quarterly project financial and statistical variance analysis and reports for program operational staff, senior management, and as required, external funders that may include government bodies.
- Prepare financial analysis, statistical variance analysis and reports for various programs and projects.
- Support the Finance Director during Provincial Disaster Coordination Team meetings.
What we are looking for :
- A university degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Chartered Professional Accounting Designation or pursuing one is an asset.
- Minimum 5 years of job-related work experience.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of accounting theory, techniques, and policies.
- Working knowledge and experience with D365 is considered an asset
- Working knowledge and experience with BI360 is considered an asset.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel.
- Superior time management and organizational skills reflected in the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with operational staff, senior management, and external parties. Fluency in French is required, English is an asset.
