The Project Leader will be responsible for the planning, execution, and successful completion of projects related to the physical infrastructure and essential support systems of the facility. This role involves managing all aspects of projects, including design, budgeting, scheduling, procurement, risk management, and coordination with multiple teams.

Responsibilities
- Take initiative and provide leadership on all work assignments.
- Apply sound engineering principles to all assigned projects.
- Prepare specification and designs for assigned projects and oversee preparation of all necessary drawings.
- Prepare cost and lead-time estimates for assigned projects and cost studies
- Monitor project financials, work within budget constraints, and seek cost-effective solutions to deliver end-user requirements.
- Obtain and adopt all requirements associated with assigned projects including but not limit to building permits, environmental regulations, sanitary design, good manufacturing practices, safety, OSHA, and all governmental regulations.
- Specify, bid, and purchase necessary services and equipment to complete assigned projects with minimal interruption to production
- Supervise and coordinate installation by contractors, plant labour, and support services to provide efficient and timely completion of assigned projects
- Provide training to maintenance and operators on all new equipment installed on assigned project
- Complete cost studies and cost estimates for yearly project
- Maintain drawings and legend standards
- Provide technical assistance to peers, contractors, and maintenance teams as required
- Apply predictive technology, root cause analysis, and other tools and new technology.
- Be innovative in identifying ways to decrease utility and maintenance costs. Lead cost savings opportunities.
- Maintain all required documentation for corporate and governmental regulatory compliance.
- Ensure that all stakeholders are involved and a team approach is used in managing all projects and problem solving activities.

Qualifications
- A minimum of 2 years manufacturing experience with a focus on:
- Capital project planning and engineering
- Experience with batching and transfer systems
- Experience with high-speed packaging machinery
- Experience managing Facility Condition Assessment Program is an asset
- Experience using CAD to prepare P&IDs, process flow diagrams, and layout drawings is an asset
- Experience with Quality Management Systems is an asset
- Demonstrated project management skills and demonstrated ability to lead and coach trades people and groups of individuals with various levels of education and experience
- University degree in Engineering (Civil, Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical)
- Strong technical and analytical aptitude required
- Demonstrated ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing setting
- Strong Interpersonal skills and experience in managing people
