Job Description 

The Security team at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre is committed to creating a safe and welcoming environment for everyone who enters our facility. We’re currently seeking experienced security professionals for a full-time opportunity within our dynamic and fast-paced Security Department. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the safety and security of our employees, clients, guests, and the general public — supporting the world-class service and professionalism that define every MTCC event. 

General Duties Include: 

  • Control Centre Monitoring; Monitoring all cameras in the facility for health and safety, movements of events, vagrants, and suspicious activity – particularly after hours. Monitoring parking areas for vehicle safety. Controlling access entry.  
  • Patrolling; Ensuring no health and safety risks throughout the facility, ensuring safety of employees, clientsand general public. Reporting and making note of any damages or leaks.  
  • Emergency Response; Evacuating individuals from the building, regaining control of tense or volatile situations, crowd control, assisting in medical emergencies or situations that compromise health and safety.  

Job Skills and Requirements: 

  • Ability to conduct routine building patrols throughout a large facility. 
  • Ability to respond quickly and effectively to emergencies. 
  • Comfortable standing or walking for extended periods. 
  • Capable of managing physically demanding situations (e.g., assisting in evacuations, crowd control, or lifting light equipment if necessary). 
  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and handle difficult situations 
  • Exposure to CCURE, Perspective and CCTV systems 
  • Exposure to Life & Safety systems 
  • Security experience in the hospitality industry, large venues and crowd management is an asset 
  • Customer Service Experience 
  • Good understanding of the Criminal Code / TPA / LLA 
  • Being a Team Player and having a Positive Attitude are an Asset.  
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 
  • Valid license under the Private Security and Investigative Services Acts 
  • First Aid/CPR Certificate/ Defibrillator Certificate 
  • Smart Serve Licence
