Adecco is actively seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our client’s expanding Vancouver team. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer with strong capabilities in low, medium, and high-voltage electrical design, protection & control, and power system studies. You will lead complex engineering projects, guide project teams, support clients, and contribute to business development activities, all while ensuring industry-leading quality and safety standards.

  • Pay Rate: $130k-$170k/year.

  • Location: Vancouver, BC

  • Job type: Permanent | Full-time

Responsibilities:  

  • Perform low, medium, and high-voltage electrical design for switchgear, MCCs, transformers, cables, trays, e-houses, and protection/control systems

  • Develop industrial control schemes, control narratives, flex-logic, and automatic power transfer systems

  • Conduct and authenticate technical reports and engineering deliverables

  • Complete power system studies: load flow, short circuit, arc flash, motor starting, harmonics, grounding, etc.

  • Develop protective relay settings, logic, and relay setting files

  • Execute electrical studies using ETAP, SKM, EasyPower, EMTP, and CDGES

  • Apply knowledge of CEC C22.1 Part 1 and IEEE standards for medium/high-voltage installations

  • Support medium and high-voltage substation and protection system design, including schematics and wiring

  • Configure protective relays (SEL, GE, ABB) and compute complex relay logic

  • Prepare proposals, estimates, and technical recommendations

  • Ensure safe work practices and contribute to a strong safety culture

  • Oversee project scope, resources, budget, and timelines while coordinating with drafting and engineering teams

  • Maintain client communication, deliverables, and invoicing accuracy

  • Participate in business development, networking, and proposal development

  • Mentor junior staff and support team development and engagement initiatives

Requirements:  

  • Legal eligibility to work and reside in Canada.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; P.Eng. (EGBC) required

  • 7+ years of experience in power systems, protection & control, and electrical design

  • Proficient with ETAP, SKM, EasyPower, EMTP, CDGES

  • Strong knowledge of CEC C22.1, IEEE standards, and industrial/utility/commercial environments

  • Able to independently deliver complex electrical designs, studies, and protection schemes

  • Experience with relay settings, configuration (SEL/GE/ABB), and logic development

  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and communication skills

  • Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects

  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within BC/AB

  • Flexible to work varying hours based on workload demands

  • Positive, motivated, team-oriented, and committed to safety and client satisfaction
