Your Opportunity

Morrison Hershfield’s Infrastructure group has developed some of the Canadian market’s most notable infrastructure projects and we are highly committed to delivering outstanding quality while meeting our clients’ needs. Our team of Planners, Engineers and Contract Administrators deliver infrastructure solutions that drive economic growth and social prosperity. Our group offers a positive customer experience across all regions of Canada, from project inception, design development and through to construction completion. Our national HI group is comprised of engineers, technicians and support personnel with their diverse backgrounds in design and construction, committed to delivering excellent technical work and customer service to our clients. This national team has earned an exceptional reputation through its successful delivery of multidisciplinary infrastructure projects in Canada.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee design process from feasibility through completion and liaise directly with clients on major projects
  • Perform detailed electrical design work and review the work of junior designers.
  • Direct CAD team for drawing preparation and review deliverables before submission to the client
  • Prepare written reports based on building electrical assessments and audits
  • Prepare written tender documents and technical specifications. Evaluate products and contractor proposals to make award recommendations to the owner
  • Work with management to develop business strategies related to new clients and potential growth areas in electrical engineering
  • Assist with proposal preparation and contacting new clients to grow business

 Qualifications

  • CAD experience is required
  • Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD 2006/2004/2008/2010.
  • Knowledge of lighting software and basic engineering is preferred
  • experience with roadway & highways lighting projects would be a strong asset.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple projects within a fast paced environment

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • P.Eng. registration in Canada
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in engineering consulting
