Chartered Professional Accountants Pre-Approved Program (CPA) 2026

Join us by earning your CPA designation at RBC and launch your career with one of the largest banks in the world! The RBC CPA Pre-Approved Program is entering its 17th year of recruiting high performing individuals like you. You will begin in this role in October 2026 and become part of an elite group of CPA Associates at RBC. Through the rotational program, you will gain invaluable work experience as you are placed in teams of highly dedicated individuals across different areas of the organization. We will work with your line managers to ensure that you receive the competencies needed to meet CPA Ontario’s practical experience requirements and you will also get the benefit of our strong in-house and external Common Final Examination (CFE) training programs.  You will be mentored and guided by successful CPA, CAs with years of audit and business experience and also be supported by senior executives here at RBC. This is an excellent opportunity to draw upon your university education and work experience in your quest to becoming a CPA, while gaining exposure to different businesses and beginning your future with a diversified financial services organization.

Please Note: To be considered for this opportunity, those selected for final rounds must be available to attend an in-person interview on September 5, 2025, in Toronto.

What is the opportunity?

This 2.5 year program consists of two rotations of 15 months each. These rotations will allow you to pivot from (1) Internal Audit to (2) Finance. You also have the opportunity to conduct an extra rotation in an international region (this is outside of the 30 months). During each rotation, you will focus and learn about a different area of the bank. You obtain access to RBC’s strong in-house and external training resources as you begin your final preparations leading up to the Common Final Exam (CFE). Once you receive your CPA designation, you will be well on the way to an exciting career with RBC!

What will you do?

  • Be part of an audit team that delivers high quality assurance and advisory services to our internal clients
  • Assist with forecasting, financial reporting, and performance management in the areas of Head Office Finance, Wholesale (Capital Markets) Finance or Retail Finance
  • Take advantage of our professional exam preparation initiatives through study programs and augmented practical work experience as you progress through CPA PEP and the Common Final Evaluation (CFE)
  • Gain in-depth, specialized training in the diversified financial services industry supported by mentorship and guidance form a strong network of successful CPA, CAs

What do you need to succeed?

  • Students entering their final year of studies (Bachelor’s, post-grad or Master’s) with an interest and passion in obtaining their CPA designation
  • Completion of academic pre-requisites or admission to the CPA Professional Education Program (CPA PEP) prior to starting the Program
  • Top quartile standing from a post-secondary institution
  • Diverse range of leadership activities, such as student club involvement and financial case competitions
  • Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven relationship-building experience, conflict resolution and teamwork skills
