Position Summary...

This position is responsible for the operation and maintenance of an ammonia based refrigeration plant in accordance with the TSSA Act 2000 and Ontario Regulation 219/01. This position represents the company in dealing with government and regulatory inspectors in accordance with the act.

What you'll do...

Ensures that the ammonia based refrigeration plant is operated and maintained in accordance with the requirement of the Act.

Authorizes, approves and be responsible for all maintenance, repairs or work performed within the plant or in connection with associated equipment.

Directs, supervises and trains shift engineers or shift operators in their work duties and responsibilities for the safe operation and maintenance of the plant.

Ensures that an accurate record of matters that may affect the safe management, operation and maintenance of the plant is made and maintained at all times.

Participates in the process of hiring, dismissing, promoting or demoting any employee in the plant under his or her control or supervision.

Acts as company’s representative in dealing with Government and Regulatory Inspectors in accordance with the TSSA Act 2000 and Ontario Regulation 219/01 as well as with repair and monitoring companies.

Recognizes, supports and commits to food safety and quality assurance requirement.

Takes on other responsibilities as need arises, including supervision of maintenance for the entire warehouse facilities.

This position requires a TSSA Class A Refrigeration license OR 2nd Class Stationary Engineer certification.
