A leading Canadian provider of medical imaging and health IT solutions is seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician. This role involves installation, service, and calibration of therapeutic, diagnostic, and life-sustaining biomedical instruments. The successful candidate will support healthcare institutions by ensuring optimal performance of critical medical equipment. This position will serve Western Canada, and will ideally operate out of Alberta, but will have a high degree of regional travel.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education in in biomedical engineering technology or equivalent work experience

  • 5+ years of related experience in biomedical and electronics principles

  • Ability to obtain Biomedical Equipment Technician certification (International Certification Commission)

  • Strong electronics knowledge, including circuits and troubleshooting (experience with anesthesiology and ventilators preferred)

  • Ability to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and illustrated part drawings

  • Valid driver’s license, passport, and ability to travel regularly (up to 2 weeks at a time)

  • Working knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and computer applications


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform repairs, calibration, and maintenance on patient care and assistive equipment

  • Conduct electrical safety inspections and ensure compliance with standards

  • Respond promptly to service calls and resolve operator concerns

  • Manage materials, schedules, and maintain accurate documentation

  • Provide informal training to users and staff as needed

  • Research and order spare parts within budgetary guidelines

  • Participate in emergency on-call rotation and department meetings

  • Maintain a clean, functional work environment and uphold company values
