ACADEMIC THROMBOSIS SPECIALIST

The Department of Medicine, Faculty of Health Sciences at McMaster University and Hamilton Health Sciences invite applications for an Academic Thrombosis Specialist. This is a full-time faculty position for a period of three years (renewable). Academic rank will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

 

It is expected that clinical activity related to patient care will take approximately 30% of the successful candidate’s time. Preference will be given to candidates who have completed fellowship training in Adult Thrombosis Medicine. Expertise in managing venous and arterial thromboembolism is required, with particular emphasis on cardiac and arterial thrombosis. The ideal candidate will have expertise in consultative Thrombosis Medicine for both inpatient and outpatient settings. Advanced (graduate) training in Health Research Methodology, Biomedical Sciences, or related scholarship activities, or commitment to enroll in such training upon appointment will be favoured.

 

The successful candidate will be a full-time member of the Division of Hematology & Thromboembolism and will be expected to contribute to the academic mission of the Faculty and Division. The successful candidate should have appropriate fellowship training and will be expected to fully participate in all appropriate departmental and divisional educational activities.

 

Applicants should be certified (or eligible for certification) by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and must be licensed (or eligible for licensure) in the Province of Ontario.
