The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) is an agency where innovation thrives, ideas flourish, and passion drives us to new heights of excellence. Reporting to the Ministry of the Attorney General, the AGCO is responsible for regulating Ontario’s vibrant alcohol, gaming, horse racing, and private retail cannabis sectors in accordance with the principles of honesty and integrity, and in the public interest.

Information and Information Technology (I&IT) Division is currently seeking a Senior Application Developer, HRIS with a focus on Oracle Cloud Fusion or Oracle HCM and HRIS to join our fast, highly productive team. As a successful candidate, you will assist in the design, development, and implementation of HCM/HRIS solutions using Oracle Fusion Cloud. Responsibilities will also include the use of tools and utilities such as Oracle Workflow and cloud platforms/tools like OIC (Oracle Integration Cloud), Oracle HDL (HCM Data Loader), and FBDI (File Based Data Import).

You will also interface with key stakeholders and apply technical proficiency across different stages of the Software Development Life Cycle, including Requirements Elicitation, Application Architecture definition, and Design, with a specific focus on HCM/HRIS modules and functionalities.

In this role, the successful candidate will:

 

  • Configure Oracle Fusion application modules and execute end-to-end unit testing.
  • Develop standard and custom solutions, internal & third-party integrations, reporting, conversions, migrations, and upgrades in Oracle Fusion Cloud HCM and HRIS.
  • Partner with peer developers, analysts, and system administrators to diagnose and implement enhancements, projects, patches, and bug fixes.
  • Work with functional SME’s and stakeholders in designing, data conversions, reports, and integrations as per defined requirements.
  • Maintain and improve AGCO’s business applications and conduct Technical Feasibility.
  • Troubleshoot and optimize existing applications.
  • Walk through the system with the tester to let them know what is being delivered, any related changes, and any areas that are not completed, so that bugs are not logged in those areas.
  • Partner with Quality and Support Team throughout the development process and quickly respond to bugs and errors identified by Quality and Support Analysts.
  • Provide quality documentation throughout the project.
  • Monitor and evaluate application performance, reliability, and security.
  • Makes recommendations on improvements to the systems where there may be performance issues, security risks, unreliable systems, or unstable applications.

 

The ideal candidate will have: 

 

  • Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • 4-7 years of experience in multiple end-to-end implementations/support projects of Oracle Cloud Fusion or Oracle HCM and HRIS.
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle Fusion HCM architecture and functionalities.
  • Hands-on experience in Fusion cloud modules, Fusion integration technologies like SOA & ICS & Reporting technologies like BI Publisher, OTBI & FRS.
  • Understanding of integration using web services / REST API is a must.
  • Have Oracle PL/SQL development experience and writing SQL queries.
  • Experience with ADF Desktop Integration (ADFDI) in Oracle Cloud Applications.
  • Proven track record of successful system troubleshooting and assisting end users/customers in a timely manner.
  • Oracle BI Publisher experience is highly desirable.
  • Having Certification in any Oracle Technology is an asset.
  • The successful candidate must be eligible to work in Canada and will be subject to a criminal background check.
