Adecco is actively seeking a highly skilled Plant Controller to join our client’s team and lead all financial operations at their Toronto manufacturing facility. In this role, you will oversee plant-level reporting, cost accounting, budgeting, and financial planning while acting as a strategic partner to operational leadership. The ideal candidate brings strong manufacturing finance experience, exceptional analytical ability, and a proven track record of driving performance and accountability. This is a high-impact position offering the opportunity to shape financial strategy, support continuous improvement, and contribute directly to the plant’s operational success.

  • Pay Rate: $150k/year.

  • Location: Toronto, ON

  • Job type: Permanent | Full-time

Responsibilities:  

  • Deliver timely and accurate plant financial reporting in line with Canadian GAAP and corporate standards.

  • Oversee cost accounting, inventory valuation, and standard costing to ensure accuracy and transparency.

  • Maintain strong internal controls and proactively identify and resolve financial risks or discrepancies.

  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning; provide clear variance and trend analysis.

  • Evaluate and track cost savings initiatives, capital projects, and productivity improvements.

  • Manage plant cash flow forecasting and working capital.

  • Partner with operations leadership to improve margins, reduce waste, and support continuous improvement efforts.

  • Monitor KPIs and link operational drivers to financial outcomes.

  • Oversee inventory accuracy, physical counts, and cost roll-ups for reliable product costing.

  • Ensure compliance with tax, audit, and corporate reporting requirements.

  • Lead and develop the finance team while fostering accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Requirements:  

  • Legal eligibility to work and reside in Canada.

  • Holds a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a CPA or equivalent designation is strongly preferred.

  • Brings 7–10 years of progressive finance experience, including several years in a manufacturing leadership capacity.

  • Demonstrates strong capabilities in cost accounting, inventory management, and ERP systems such as Syteline or Epicor.

  • Proven track record of partnering with operations to drive cost reductions, improve margins, and enhance cash flow.

  • Experience in highly regulated manufacturing sectors (e.g., aerospace) is considered an advantage.

  • Possesses solid business acumen with the ability to translate operational activity into meaningful financial insights.

  • Skilled in analysis, problem-solving, and communication, with the ability to influence decision-making across the business.

  • Highly organized and detail-focused, able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Comfortable constructively challenging assumptions and promoting accountability within cross-functional teams.
