What is the opportunity?
The RBC Dominion Securities Inc. (“RBC DS”) Branch located at Avenue and Bloor is looking for a licensed Team Operations Manager to join the Ascendant Wealth Partners (AWP) team. The Team Operations manager will assist in administering all aspects of the day to day operation of the Ascendant Wealth Partners team. This is an exciting and challenging role for one of the largest advisory teams in the country. The ability to learn and grow in this role is vast.
The Team Operations Manager fulfils a leadership role within Ascendant Wealth Partners by providing management and employee relations support to the Partners and Support Staff.
This role is Management and Human Resources related with additional book of business responsibilities and requires the ability to prioritize tasks, work under pressure of daily deadlines, and keep organized while working under frequent interruption. The Team Operations Manager will work closely with the Partners and Branch Management and reports directly to the Branch Operations Manager.
What will you do?
- Manage business and team management with input from the Partner(s)
- Manage operations and human resources needs of the team
- Manage all team operations with approvals by Partner(s) as needed/ team operations oversight
- Assist Partner(s) with all aspects of team HR management including performance reviews of Associates, Trading and Admin and Operations teams
- Training and development for support staff - You will be dealing with support staff on a daily basis. While indirectly supervising, you will also be providing leadership and coaching to all support staff,
- Host weekly Team Operations Meeting with Admin team & Associate Advisors and Associate Portfolio Managers
- Host Quarterly Business Development / Outstanding Opportunities meeting – Hosted by Partner(s) and Operations Manager
- Assist Partner(s) with managing team expenses, BDA and operational needs.
- Assist Partner(s) with Management of key business metrics
- Assist with opportunity tracking and reporting for team
- Manage lower end client transitions to fee, asset consolidation or transition to home of best fit
- Assist with marketing and branding for AWP team.
- Client Experience Management and Service Plan coordinator for team
- Special projects Team, Business or clients
- Team and other business compliance
- Assist Partner(s) with managing team calendar, email and other scheduling priorities with clients or internal partners/contacts
- Manage Information and Technology Strategy and implementation for team
- Review, update and ensure consistent execution of key team processes
Must-have
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills with ability to multitask , attention to detail
- Professionalism and ability to manage highly confidential information
- Completion of the Canadian Securities Course (CSC), the Conduct and Practices Handbook Course (CPH)
- Excellent people skills, ability to manage different personalities, mature/positive attitude
Nice-to-have
- Proficiency in Excel and Outlook Mail/Calendar
- Post-secondary education
- Minimum 5-10 years’ experience in full-service brokerage industry
- Management experience
