About the role:
The Team Lead is responsible for leading, overseeing and providing strategic direction to the Canadian Small Business (SB) sales force. This role ensures business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. This is a producing role and therefore the Team Lead delivers this mandate by acquiring deepening and retaining relationships with SB clients and coaches their team to do the same. The Team Lead is a direct manager, player coach and the centre of SB expertise for their assigned territory and has shared accountabilities with Branch Managers for all SB Banking sales in that market. This is a work from home position, with travel expected in the city and to rural branches 3-5 times a week minimum.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Lead and drive a client focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
- Manage day-to-day sales operations and activities of Advisors.
- Provide adequate credit support in complicated deals and assist in high-value client interaction.
- Coach, develop and upskill Advisors.
- Deliver formal performance reviews and support career growth.
- Ensure sales practices are compliant.
- Creates an environment in which their team pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
Do you have the skills to enable you to be successful in this role? We would love to work with you if you have:
- Moody’s Certificate in Small Business
- University/college degree or work equivalency
- Proven track record in delivering results in a fast-paced, agile sales environment with strong leadership and coaching skills
- Demonstrated experience coaching and developing talent.
- Expert knowledge of the Bank’s Small Business products and services, including the supporting systems such as Scotia Business Hub, Business Account Opening, Scotiaworx, SBP 360, Salesforce and Sales Builder
- Expert knowledge of credit processes and policies, including ACE/Scotiaworx and GRM-Small Business
- Thorough knowledge of products and services provided by the Bank’s specialized sales forces and other delivery channels, such as Wealth Management, Retail Advisors, Commercial Banking
