In the senior advisor role you are a member of our Pension Governance team. You will be working with your team members supporting the governance, development and sustainment of programs through thoughtful partnership and collaboration creating a sustainable culture that supports the long-term health and financial well-being for members, pension plans and Suncor.Minimum Requirements:
10+ years of pension and savings or pension finance experience within a business environment.
A post-secondary education
Proven ability to work and build strategic partnerships in a dynamic and changing organization.
Deep knowledge of pension legislation, pension tax regulations, employment/labour standards in relation to program design, governance and compliance.
Strong financial skills with respect to reporting, asset reconciliations and audit processes.
Knowledge of privacy regulations in Canada and GDPR.
Experience with contract and vendor management in the areas of employee plans, trust, and insurance (pension & savings).
Strong project management experience in a global business environment is an asset.
Responsibilities:
Support the development of DB and DC pension and savings plans’ communications strategy and design.
Provide internal consulting/advisory support to key stakeholders and partners.
Bring experience in unionized environments, with a focus on the application of knowledge of employment/ labour standards in the support and plan governance of integrated total rewards programs.
Partner across various stakeholder teams both internal and external to resolve a variety of complex issues /escalations related to pension compliance and changing business and pension regulatory environment.
Support the monitoring and audit of pension vendors and partners (internal and external) ensuring governance, regulatory and service standards are exceeded, while ensuring costs are monitored and controlled.
Strategic support in the development of programs and business initiatives.
Location and other Key Details:
This is an office-based role. You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.
Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs.
Relocation support will be provided
