Are you looking to put your accounting expertise to work on a collaborative team? You’ll prepare and review complex entries for trading accounting and providing analysis and insight to support middle office, internal and external financial reporting as you help progress our digital transformation.Minimum Requirements:
8-10 years of relevant energy experience
A university degree in finance or accounting
A professional designation CPA, CFA, with a solid understanding of financial and accounting principles
Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Power BI and Excel and other Microsoft Office programs
Working knowledge of database software such as SAP, Prism, BEX, BW, Peoplesoft
Knowledge in Commodity Trading and Risk Management (CTRM) systems
Strong interpersonal skills with proven success in partnering with various business contacts
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail
Responsibilities:
Execute the crude trading month end cycle, including entries and analysis related to product costing, inventory, purchase, sales, intercompany transactions, and intercompany profit eliminations.
Prepare monthly performance management reports for the crude trading business and effectively communicating economic performance, strategies, and drivers
Coordinate with various stakeholders in front, mid and back office to ensure timely execution of month end process
Identify continuous improvement opportunities
Manages data gathering process for key accounting adjustments and disclosures
Assist in the implementation of SAP S4 to support wide forecasting requirements for crude accounting
Develop an understand of the mid office to back-office profit and loss variances and effectively communicate the trading variances.
Location and other Key Details:
This is an office-based role. You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 –6th Ave S.W.
Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
Our business professional roles follow internal compensation guidelines, and the pay band will generally be based years of experience and scope of work
