We are searching for an Information Technology professional who is passionate and knowledgeable about SharePoint and Microsoft 365 technologies. In this position, the SharePoint Administrator will be the primary point of contact for the administration of the overall SharePoint environment and resolving problems as they arise. In addition, they will also be responsible for the administration of other existing technologies including but not limited to Microsoft 365, Power Platform and Azure.
What you'll do
- Manage and maintain all production and non-production Microsoft SharePoint environments.
- Monitor SharePoint and applications for system performance and troubleshoot problem areas as needed.
- Administer permissions and access to the SharePoint resources.
- Knowledge of Windows operating systems, as well as SQL Server, Power BI, PowerShell, and Office 365.
- Responsible for upgrades and patching to the SharePoint application and systems; including requirement gathering, testing, documentation and establishing the upgrade process and configurations while following the change control process.
- Lead the process of system design activities and review existing system designs to ensure that application solutions achieve expected levels of performance, security, scalability, maintainability, reusability and reliability upon deployment.
- Monitor SharePoint trends (e.g. site usage and growth, disk space usage and growth)
- Fully document the current system and create user manuals that define how to use the system.
- Provide training as needed as part of ongoing knowledge sharing initiatives.
- Gather requirements and translate business needs/language into technical requirements.
- Liaise with external vendors and internal clients to analyze problems and propose solutions.
- Ensure effective communications and coordinate with business units when there are middleware related efforts that affect them
- Identify requirements and prepare proposals for major enhancements and maintenance work for SharePoint and other Microsoft 365 products.
- Assist in designing and implementing disaster recovery plans for the SharePoint systems and application.
- Develop test plan and scripts for System Acceptance tests.
- Prepare the test environment and perform tests.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with SharePoint Administration, SharePoint Application Deployment.
- In depth knowledge of SharePoint administration including but not limited to: SharePoint security, document libraries, webapps, infrastructure, system maintenance, deployment and publishing.
- Working knowledge of Windows IIS and web publishing services and applications.
- Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server & SQL Reporting Services. Hands-on DBA experience is an asset.
- Knowledge of Active Directory structure as it relates to SharePoint objects and schemas.
- Hands on knowledge of workflow management and configuration within SharePoint
- Exposure to both Online and On-Premise SharePoint platforms.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Azure Server Management and Azure database, administration.
- Must possess and maintain a good understanding and working knowledge of all aspects of the System Integration.
- Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a respectful manner with a diverse community of clients, co-workers and external contractors.
- Excellent oral communication and technical writing skills and ability to present to management and client groups, to consult with technical and non-technical staff, and to prepare reports and proposals.
- Cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Nice to haves: ITIL Foundation Certification, Microsoft Certifications (various), SharePoint Development exposure.
