What is the opportunity?
The candidate of this Senior Technical System Analyst role will join Global Middle Office (GBOI) team under Business & Client Service Technology (BCS-T) group of RBC Capital Markets, mainly responsible for providing technical solution and automation for middle office and back-office applications for new projects and BAU enhancements, providing timely support for production issues with platform.
What will you do?
- 60% System Design, Development and Deployment; 30% Production Support and Analysis; 10% Documentation
- Develop and support middle and back-office applications for new projects and system defects.
- Work closely with team members and business partners to understand the requirement and implement the solutions.
- Take responsibility for delivering tactical and strategic solutions for system RoadMap items.
- Proactively identify system inefficiencies and provide/recommend proposal and solution to all stakeholders.
- Follow the SDLC process by employing and supporting metrics, unit test driven development, release cycles, change management, resource driven project plans, and cross functional communication.
- Document for system design, proposal/Solution and release notes.
What do you need to succeed?
Must have:
- BS/MS in Computer Science or related fields. 8+ year experiences on software design & development. Framework architecture, design, and development experience
- Strong core Java experience including development of large-scale web or client-server applications.
- Working experience with tcl, perl, shell, Python scripting language under Unix/Linux environment
- Strong experience with relational database (Sybase, Oracle, SQL server etc) and SQL programming language. Knowledge of GitHub, Jenkins, JIRA and Confluence
- Working experience on supporting enterprise applications/systems in a fast paced, time sensitive environment. Strong analytical, conceptual and troubleshooting skill.
- Previous financial industry experience, ideally capital markets trading, middle office & back-office experience
Nice-to-have:
- General understanding of FIX protocol
- Working experience with Fidessa framework development
- Experience with technologies/frameworks like NoSQL, real time database, micro-services and design approaches including event-driven architecture, cloud-based deployments, Service Oriented approaches, Streaming.
- Cypress based framework Development Experience for Rabacus Testing Environment
