National Bank of Canada, the 6th largest in Canada, is expanding rapidly and is looking to increase its team of high-caliber planning professionals.A career as a Senior Tax Advisor at National Bank Financial (NBF) primarily involves supporting NBF clients and Investment Advisors (IA) in their tax needs by providing them with general or specific information. In other words, a rare 100% consulting position, without the management of clients' tax returns! The sector's mission is to offer high-quality expertise and services in the areas of taxation, retirement and estate.
Your job
- Become one of the tax references of the client advisory team of one of the largest asset management firms in Canada!
- Collaborate with your colleagues to provide high-quality tax support to IA and other stakeholders.
- Perform complex tax analyses, guide IA and their clients in resolving their tax issues/issues and refer them to external experts as needed.
- Manage multiple complex files with tight deadlines in an ever-changing environment.
- Draft and update various tax-related documents (e.g., budget summaries) to support colleagues on the advisory team, IA and their clients.
- Be a team player, maintain relationships with many internal stakeholders and collaborate as a consultant.
- When appropriate, participate in meetings with NBF clients and/or the client's external advisors.
- Understand business issues but above all participate in the development of practical and adapted solutions.
- If necessary, provide in-house tax training.
- Ensure the management of corporate risks in the context of files.
Prerequisites
- Master's degree or postgraduate diploma in taxation or have successfully completed the ICCA in-depth course.
- University degree in a relevant field (law, accounting, actuarial science, finance, economics, etc.).
- In-depth knowledge of the many tax rules for individuals, estates, trusts and corporations.
- Approximately 10 years of relevant work experience.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate complex tax concepts in a simple, comprehensive and practical manner.
