Do you have a passion for leveraging your Cloud expertise to design and implement cutting-edge solutions?As a Senior Azure Solution Designer, you will play a pivotal role in architecting, designing, and deploying Cloud infrastructure with a focus on Microsoft Azure services. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the required uptime SLA is achieved by developing robust and resilient systems. You will collaborate with various application support teams, adhering to architecture best practices, and troubleshooting deployment issues. Additionally, you will analyze logging information and request cloud automation enhancements. Developing automation strategies and CI/CD deployment processes in collaboration with other teams will be essential.
Minimum Requirements:
Computer Science degree or Technical College diploma
10+ years of IT operations and/or IT project execution experience, with in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Azure cloud services
Senior-level ability to implement and troubleshoot Azure networking and connect to AWS/on-premise servers/services
General knowledge of Windows server operating systems, VMWare, RHEL, and storage technology
Hands-on experience in provisioning and configuration, including:
5-8 years within the Azure cloud platform
3-5 years with containers (preferably OpenShift or Kubernetes)
1-3 years of coding automation (preferably with Terraform)
Extensive expertise in public and private cloud environments, IT infrastructure operations (server/workload, storage/data protection, networks), for various cloud service models
Responsibilities:
Architect, design, document and deploy solutions into Azure plus provide KT sessions to Operation teams for ongoing support
Drive the development and architecture review of Cloud Services, policies, and processes, and champion continuous improvement
Monitor and support the evolution of cloud adoption through effective engagement with IT Projects, IT Operations, and key business stakeholders
Enhance cloud services using best practices around CI/CD, Microservices, or other means to ensure reliability, cybersecurity, cost-efficiency, and compliance
Update tracking and ticketing toolsets, including ServiceNow for requests/change management, and Jira for work tracking. Knowledge of Power BI and Power Automate is advantageous
Location and other Key Details:
This is an office-based role. You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W
Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
This position is security sensitive which requires you to clear a criminal history check
There will be an on-call component to this role
Our business professional roles follow internal compensation guidelines, and the pay band will generally be based years of experience and scope of work
