MDFO Manager – Operations Investments

As a Mutual Funds Dealer Operations (MFDO) Manager, you'll be part of a dynamic team and work in a stimulating, bustling diversified environment. You'll direct a team of about 20 people whose mandate is to carry out the transactions on the investment products distributed by National Bank of Canada various business lines. You'll also maximize your employees' contribution while helping them progress and develop their skills through personalized coaching.

You'll be based in Toronto and report to the Associate Vice President, Operations Investment.
Your main responsibilities:
- Take charge of the team's development: recruitment, integration, training and continuous improvement
- Manage a team that will carry out non-automated financial and non-financial transactions related to all products on Fundserv as well as manual investment products (non-Fundserv) for all types of plans: registered and non-registered accounts (RRSPs, RRIFs/LIFs, TFSAs)
- Create a climate conducive to helping employees/the team develop their full potential in a transformation context (digitization and automation)
- Keep abreast of technological developments and new work processes that can help improve the team's productivity while reducing operating expenses
- Ensure sound budget management and workforce planning in your sector Ensure your sector's overall performance (budget, work organization, capacity management)
- Meet compliance and operating risk requirements
- Work closely with different partners to implement joint strategies to deliver the client experience
- Represent your sector on different internal and external committees and/or partner roundtables
You'll stand out through your leadership, your professional judgement, your tolerance of uncertainty, your ability to manage change and your collaboration.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field and 5 years of relevant experience OR Master's degree in a related field and 3 years of relevant experience
- Experience in personnel management and coaching, mandatory
- Adaptability and tolerance of uncertainty
- Sound knowledge of investment processes and registered plans (RRSPs, LIRAs, locked-in RRSPs, RRIFs/LIFs, RESPs, TFSAs, etc.)
- Sound understanding of regulatory requirements (CIRO)
- Experience in project delivery and change management, an asset
- Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to influence
- Strong analytical and synthesis skills
- Proficiency with management concepts (e.g. capacity management, productivity, continuous improvement)
- Ability to mobilize and rally your team
- Good priority management skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Bilingualism, both spoken and written (English and French), an asset
