$102,322.00 - $126,992.00Develops communications strategy to establish partnerships and market OLBI expertise in research, language instruction and development, language skill measurement and assessment, bilingualism and language planning, in Canada and abroad, in support of the University of Ottawa’s mission of bilingualism and service to the French-speaking community. Supervises and implements all aspects of OLBI communications.
In this role, your responsibilities will include:
Administers and supervises the development of new products and services, creating, with all OLBI sections, strategic plans to promote and commercialize them nationally and internationally.
Conducts market analyses to identify challenges and growth opportunities for OLBI sections. Prioritizes marketing strategies and allocates resources accordingly.
Protects the brand and ensures its proper and optimal use. Designs and manages implementation of the communications plan, to achieve profitability and growth of OLBI activities, so as to secure their visibility and strengthen their reputation in the National Capital Region, across the country and around the world. Assesses results of communications plans in terms of the University’s mission and vision and of OLBI’s mandate.
Develops and manages strategic partnerships with key actors in the field of bilingualism and language teaching, to increase OLBI’s visibility and promote its strengths and assets at the University of Ottawa, across Canada and around the world.
Manages marketing and development human resources, which involves recruitment, hiring, supervision, performance management, evaluation and staff training.
Oversees the Julien Couture Resource Centre, to ensure it develops as a singular public space and home to a collection of unique resources on the University campus, the authorized showcase to promote OLBI expertise.
What you will bring:
- Master’s in administration, marketing or communication, for example, or in another area related to the job duties
- Five to seven years’ experience in marketing and branding strategy design and implementation
- Strong understanding of bilingualism and language teaching in Canada, with knowledge of the challenges and opportunities promotion of bilingual programs entails
- Experience in human resources and budget management
- Experience managing websites, social media and other marketing and communications tools
- Experience in business development and market research
- Excellent writing skills in English and in French
- Strong team management and partnership building skills
- Change-oriented leadership skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to develop both internal and external professional networks
- Outstanding project management, organizational and leadership skills
- Bilingualism — English/French (spoken and written)
