Reporting to the Manager, Strategic Partnerships, the Lead, IT Vendor Management manages relationships with key vendors to deliver value and support strategic objectives. This role includes performance monitoring, risk mitigation, and process improvement to uphold Teck's standards.
Job Description
Develop and maintain positive relationships with key vendors, acting as the primary point of contact
Ensure vendor services align strictly with business objectives and deliver desired value
Foster collaboration between vendors and internal teams to improve service delivery
Support the management of vendor agreements with procurement teams to ensure favorable conditions for the organization
Support the lifecycle of vendor contracts, including negotiation, renewal, and termination in collaboration with procurement teams
Work with legal and procurement teams to address any contract-related issues or disputes
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all vendor contracts and related documentation
Collaborate with internal teams, including IT, procurement, legal, and operations, to ensure vendor services meet business needs
Recommend and implement improvements to vendor management strategies and processes
Serve as the escalation point for vendor-related issues, ensuring timely and effective resolution
Qualifications
- Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
- College/University degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Relevant certifications in vendor management, contract management, or supply chain management are an asset
- 4-6 years of experience in vendor management, procurement, or a related field
- Vast knowledge of effective vendor management techniques and industry norms
- Experience with performance monitoring and reporting tools
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with collaborators both within and outside the organization
- Ability to manage multiple vendor relationships and priorities in a dynamic environment
- Experience in the mining or heavy industry sector is an asset

Salary Range: $132,000 - $163,000
The actual base salary offered is determined based on the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
