The Estimator will be a key member responsible for construction cost planning and budget management of projects.
What you’ll do
- Assist with developing and managing construction budget for multi-million dollar mid-rise and high-rise projects.
- Review construction design documents and perform quantity take-off for construction budgeting.
- Upload construction budget to JDE system.
- Assist with cost-benefit analysis on Mattamy’s strategic and sustainability initiatives.
- Assist with value engineering to achieve cost efficiency in collaboration with cross-functional project teams.
- Monitor industry best practices, market trends, emerging processes, and technologies. Share the learnings internally.
- Support the development of standard project finishes, features, and upgrade program.
- Assist with maintaining and updating internal cost database.
- Assist with budget review during construction stage.
- Assist with reviewing trades extras related to post tender design changes.
- Other duties as required.
What you bring
- Over 3+ years of experience as a construction estimator.
- Post-secondary degree(s) and/or certificate(s) in architecture, engineering, construction and/or project management.
- Ability to perform quantity take-off in all trades discipline using computer software.
- Strong numeracy and analytical capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Computer literacy, with strong knowledge of Excel and Word.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work within tight deadlines and prioritize.
- Positive attitude, responsive and action oriented.
- Highly organized and detail oriented.
Bonus Points
- Eligible for or have attained PQS, CET.
- Experience with JDE and Procore system.
