As the Retail Store Assistant Manager, you will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day operations of the corporate Home Hardware Retail Store in St Jacobs. You will lead a successful team by driving retail sales through inventory management, merchandising, advertising, and promotions while creating an exceptional customer experience. Led by the Retail Store Manager, this opportunity will suit a hands-on leader with exceptional communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
Please note this is a Full-Time position (40 hours per week), and the successful candidate must be available for any of the store hours:
- Weekdays – 7:00am to 6:00pm
- Saturdays – 8:00am to 5:00pm
- Sundays – 12:00pm to 5:00pm
Ready to make an impact in a new role? Here’s how:
- Oversee, lead, coach, motivate and mentor Team Members through leadership and performance management.
- Work with the corporate head office in support of the in-store system through meetings and supporting Team Members in day-to-day operations. Ensure the eCommerce platform is being maintained.
- Plan, execute and maintain category management, product assortment and set-up of seasonal displays to optimize sales.
- Create and place orders for HHSL and vendor direct product while maintaining inventory and understanding market trends.
- Coordinate promotional events i.e. Customer Appreciation, Garage Sales, etc.
- Deliver an exceptional customer experience through team training, education and demonstrating through leadership to ensure customer satisfaction in all areas.
- Prepare monthly staff work schedule and assist with staff meetings.
- Assist in hiring, training, and leading new Team Members.
- Support and execute the set-up of National Marketing programs and flyers to meet deadlines.
- Support the Home brand and community engagement through collaboration with local retailers, vendors, and customers.
We’re looking for:
- Three to five years’ experience in a similar role supporting with retail sales, execution, and operations.
- Strong leadership skills to motivate and lead a team to achieve common goals.
- Understanding of retail key performance indicators and budget process.
- Knowledge of the home improvement and hardware industry is an asset.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task and adapt to challenging situations.
- Familiar with POS in-store system and other retail software.
- Working knowledge of Home Hardware systems and services is an asset.
- Willingness to work weekends and extra hours when required.
- The ability to be fully onsite at our Home Hardware Retail Store in St. Jacobs, to accommodate the needs of the role.
