Purpose
In this role you'll contribute to the overall success of Global Transaction Banking (GTB) across Scotiabank’s markets, by defining and developing transformational opportunities in GTB while ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. This role will work closely with business lines to define and validate strategies covering GTB’s Canada and global markets while ensuring that all activities conducted follow governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
What You’ll Do:
- Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge
- Contribute to the definition and development of the GTB strategy and roadmap through research of global payments trends and disruptions, and the analysis of their applicability to markets within Scotiabank's global footprint
- Design and lead problem solving sessions, workshops, and interviews with cross-functional / business line working team members and subject matter experts
- Synthesize and quantify findings and present clear recommendations and implementation plans to ensure impactful project outcomes to senior leaders within the Bank
- Support annual business planning activities including investment sizing and benefits forecasting
- Develop artifacts to support executive updates, steering committee, and monthly business reviews
- Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions
- Actively pursue efficient operations of your respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adherence to day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk
- Champion a high-performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment
What You'll Bring:
- 5+ years of experience in Corporate Strategy, Consulting, or strategy experience within a Financial Services company
- Strong understanding of the domestic and global transaction banking and payments landscape, and market usage across segments
- Ability to clearly articulate and communicate complex business concepts associated with the transaction banking domain
- Experience in applying design thinking principles to define and solve business problems
- Comfort working in an agile, matrixed environment
- Hands on experience with payments modernization programs either domestically or globally (e.g., US, UK, Australia, Europe)
- General knowledge of global transaction banking trends and technologies
- Strong technical ability with PowerPoint, Excel and Word
- Bilingual Preferred: Spanish and English
