Role Overview: As a Lead SDET, you will work closely with the SDET team to design, develop, and execute comprehensive test strategies, test plans, and test cases. The ideal candidate would be a combination of a hands-on developer who has some managerial experience, and who can understand existing automation test frameworks and can enhance and implement the same; also guide and participate hands-on in the team's testing efforts to ensure quality of coverage, quality of code and quality of delivery.
What you’ll do:
- Led the team of SDET engineers to build and maintain automation frameworks and develop scripts to support QA scenarios.
- Work with other SDETs to help debug and troubleshoot issues found around test scripts.
- Producing and evaluating code to build automated testing programs.
- Collaborate with Engineers, product and business teams to ensure quality is built into our software engineering using test-driven development.
- Monitor test results and report on the quality of development.
- Be the liaison operating in a technical leadership capacity with functional QA leads and back-end java engineers to design and develop an automation framework on foundational principles.
- Integrate automated tests into the continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to ensure tests are run automatically as part of all build and deployment phases.
- Use innovation and automation, when possible, to provide sustainable solutions and scalable performance test results.
What you bring to the role:
- 10+ years of experience of software engineering experience with a focus on QA automation.
- 8+ years of working experience in design and development of RESTful APIs using Java, JSON, Spring Boot and Spring Cloud.
- Must have good experience working as a SDET (software development engineer in test).
- Must have good experience in automation testing.
- Prior working experience in the retail industry and knowledge and exposure in Supply Chain Domain with a focus on warehouse management and digital.
- Strong working knowledge and experience in relational databases with emphasis on SQL query language and stored procedures.
- Senior-level knowledge of DevOps principles and practices.
- Experienced with infrastructure as a code and multi-cloud strategy.
- Strong knowledge of the ITIL Framework (Incident, Problem, Change, Release Management).

We regularly assess market data to ensure we offer a competitive compensation package for our associates. The base salary for this position ranges between CAD 95,000 – 110,500 per year. Where the successful candidate may fall within the range depends on relevant education, work and/or management experience and other business-related and job-necessary qualifications. This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual performance-based bonus, as well as benefits that support your physical, mental and financial wellbeing.
