Your Opportunity
Morrison Hershfield now Stantec's National Bridge Team is currently over 90 strong in our Vancouver, Calgary, Winnipeg, Toronto and Ottawa offices, and we are growing! Our National Transportation Group is over 300 strong. As a result there will be immediate opportunities for working across all jurisdictions and contributing to interesting projects of all scale and type.
We are looking for a talented Intermediate to Senior Bridge Project Manager to deliver projects as part of our Transportation Structures Department in Calgary, AB. MH’s Western Canada Bridge Group has experienced significant growth over the past 5 years. We are looking for talented engineers to solidify our team and allow us to deliver high end services to our current and future clients, particularly in Alberta, but also across Western Canada and nationally.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Project management and/or design management of bridges, culverts, retaining walls and foundation engineering assignments
- Analysis, design, preparation of tender packages, visual inspections, report preparation, cost estimating, construction engineering services
- Proposal preparation and assisting to develop client relations
- Mentoring of junior staff
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Demonstrated ability to organize, coordinate, and project manage quality, budget, schedule, and technical deliverables for bridge projects at all phases of the project life cycle. Proven ability to deliver bridge design and analysis projects from start to finish
- Excellent report-writing skills
- Familiarity with CHBDC and Alberta Transportation design standards, construction specifications, and project delivery is an asset
- Familiarity with the City of Calgary and City of Edmonton design standards, construction specifications, and project delivery is an asset
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
- Self-motivated with a strong commitment to teamwork
Education and Experience
Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering is an asset
Minimum 6 years of relevant experience, preferably within the Bridge Consulting Engineering industry
P.Eng. designation with APEGA or the ability to transfer
Experience with CSiBridge / SAP2000 / Midas / SFrame / AutoCAD and similar software is an asset
Experience with D/B or P3 projects is an asset
Experience acting in the role of Contract Administrator overseeing bridge construction
