Summary
Reporting to Manager, Professional Services, the Senior Consultant, ICT Systems Architecture, is a generalist responsible for gathering requirements, developing detailed solutions designs, and implementing/supporting environments, that solve complex business issues. The Sr Consultant shall create infrastructure designs (both high and low level), configure and maintain infrastructure and will communicate effectively at various levels of enterprise, both internally and externally. The Senior Consultant shall be well-versed with solution development methodologies, infrastructure assessments, industry/technology best practices, and Data Centre & Campus network and security architectures.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, design and maintain network, systems and security architectures while following a structured solution development/design methodology
- Analyze, design, advise, implement and develop supporting documentation, policies and procedures to support SMB (small and medium business) and Enterprise IT infrastructure
- Develop innovative solutions and design practices to solve complete business problems
- Monitor and analyze systems, identifying weaknesses and planning for fixing the same
- Investigate incidents and perform root cause analysis to identify solutions
- Provide support for the installation and operations of complex server hardware and virtualized environment
- Create written reports and present them to various stakeholders
- Liaise with various departments and agencies to uncover and manage deficiencies, especially those related to systems, network and security
- Coordinate the application of disaster recovery procedures
- Provide guidance to staff on technology issues when needed
- Liaise with sales and support groups for client related projects and needs
Critical Qualifications
- University Degree in Computer Science, Information Management Systems or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum 5+ years of industry experience
- Advanced Certifications in one or more of the following technologies: CISCO, VMWare, HP/Greenlake, Netapp, Microsoft, Meraki, Aruba, Checkpoint, Palo Alto, SilverPeak. Combinations of other certifications not listed, and experience may be considered
- Experience gathering detailed requirements, developing High Level (HLD)/Low Level (LLD) Solution Designs, implementing and supporting solutions in a wide range of technologies including (but not limited to):
- Networking (e.g. CISCO, Meraki, Aruba)
- System Software (e.g. Microsoft, Citrix, etc.)
- Virtualization (e.g. VMWare, Hyper-V, Citrix)
- Data Centre (e.g. CISCO UCS, HPe Greenlake, Netapp HCI)
- Storage (e.g. Netapp, 3Par, Nimble)
- Security (e.g. Checkpoint, Fortinet, Firepower)
- Experience in Enterprise or Public Sector organizations is considered an asset
- Ability to work in a fast- paced environment
- Self-directed, and efficient at managing multiple simultaneous projects/priorities
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to adapt to and learn new software and hardware related tools and infrastructure
- Excellent teamwork and customer service skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- A valid driver’s license and access to vehicle is required
- Travel is required
