What you’ll do
As part of Canadian Tire Corporation's strategic agenda, the Petroleum Division (CTP) continues to pursue growth in the gasoline, car wash and convenience store businesses. Critical to the success of these growth plans is recruiting key talent, to lead the business to new levels over the coming years. To this end, CTP is looking for an individual for the role of Regional Business Manager reporting to the Manager, Field Operations. This role will provide the successful candidate with an excellent grounding in Canadian Tire's petroleum business and provide for career progression opportunities coincident with CTP's growth plans. Working from a home office and travelling to the Canadian Tire Petroleum sites within the assigned territory, the successful candidate will be expected to develop, attract, motivate and coach an effective team of petroleum Retailers in achieving site level performance and operating goals, to meet Canadian Tire’s vision of being the best at what our customers value most.
• Provide leadership and consultative support for a territory of Retailers, to optimize site financial performance in the management of the gasoline and ancillary businesses: including gasoline volume & margins, convenience store sales & margin, and car wash revenues. Collaborate with a home office team to effectively manage programs and resources to support Retailers.
• Recruit, select and manage mobility of Retailers consistent with the assessment of Retailers' performance and site requirements
• Coach and share best practices on maximizing sales, enhancing customer service, managing costs, and improving store merchandising
• Development of business action plans and facilitation of regional Retailer meetings and seminars, as required
• Provide input to the development and effective implementation of marketing programs and business plans by maintaining an understanding of territory competitive environment and operating challenges
• Ensure petroleum Retailer’s compliance to all image, customer service, and other site operating standards
• This role involves a combination of Virtual and On-Site work with Retailers (with travel required)
What you bring
• 5 years field experience in the Petroleum or retail industry, managing multiple locations.
• Undergraduate degree in business or marketing, or equivalent.
• Excellent relationship management skills, organizational skills, communication, and leadership skills.
• Proven coaching and counseling skills.
• Results orientation - strong sense of urgency.
• Strong business acumen along with strong financial and analytical skills.
• Customer-service focused.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel.
