Position Overview:
Reporting to the Project Communications Manager, the Local Business and Community Engagement Coordinator will lead the development of local community engagement initiatives and provide communications and planning support for the External Affair team. They will also provide support to all interested Indigenous and local businesses seeking information on subcontracting and procurement opportunities required by the project or its contractors.
• Work out of JFJV’s Project Resource Centre, in Kitimat, as a representative to those looking for Project information and opportunities
• Provide concise and up to date project information to external parties.
• Foster and maintain positive relationships with local and Indigenous communities.
• Develop and implement detailed communication strategies to engage local communities.
• Work with Project subcontractors in the development and organization of their community engagement initiatives.
• Support the development and scheduling of internal and external project communications content.
• Coordinate with various internal departments and stakeholders to organize and execute site-wide events and initiatives.
• Maintain and build new relationships with contractors and their subcontractors project managers, Human Resource, and reporting teams representatives.
• Raise all issues and concerns to the Project Communications Manager
• Support the External Affairs team with other communications related duties, such as presentation development, social media, and other duties as assigned.
