Leads Scotiabank’s technology transformation vision to drive and accelerate the Wire Payments platform (BESS) replacement program. Partner with business lines and key functional areas across the enterprise, including in Operations, Treasury, Finance, Compliance, Risk Management and others to enable team to deliver on its project vision
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout the team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
Owns the planning, delivery roadmap, oversight and outcomes of all activities related to the Bank’s wire platform (BESS) modernization to the new All Payments System (APS) to build a best in class, next generation payments platform that supports GTB’s growth strategic priorities.
Accountable for leading the BESS Replacement program, including and not limited to design, development, integration, solving for any operational challenges and dependencies along the way.
Subject Matter Expert for Wire Payments platforms and technology, translating highly complex business, compliance and regulatory requirements into cost-effective strategies and solutions, while ensuring optimal alignment to business priorities.
Provide thought leadership on modernization based on awareness of industry trends, emerging technologies, and present opportunities to senior technology and business leaders to drive innovation.
Apply business & technical acumen, knowledge, and experience to drive new ways of thinking about issues to resolve highly complex technical and business challenges.
Directs day-to-day activities in a manner consistent with the Bank’s risk culture and the relevant risk appetite statement and limits. Communicates the Bank’s risk culture and risk appetite statement throughout their teams.
Builds a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment, communicating vison/values/business strategy and managing succession and development planning for the team
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have:
10+ years of experience working on end-to-end technology architecture, application support and deployment, preferably within financial services.
Delivery of large-scale complex programs at pace, developing high performing interchanging teams to support delivery at each stage.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Excellent judgment and analytical skills.
Solid understanding of payments related risk across multiple regulatory jurisdictions
