We are looking for Qualified Professionals to teach courses in:
Continuing Education – Occupational Health and Safety (Online Instruction)

Continuing Education at Mohawk College offers a wide variety of programs, courses and workshops designed for those seeking professional development through upgrading or retraining or for personal interest.
Workshops and courses are scheduled on a part-time basis including evenings, weekends and online. Prospective candidates must be available during these time periods. Continuing Education Faculty are able to teach up to 6 hrs/week.
We are interested in reviewing applications for instructors within the following programs and/or academic disciplines:
- Hazard Assessment and Control
- Basic Principles of Fire Safety
- Occupational Health and Safety Program Development & Coordination
What you’ll be doing:
- Updating course outline and lesson plans to current technology/standards.
- Preparing materials that fulfill the course learning outcomes, planning lessons, developing assessments and exams that reflect the integrated nature of the curriculum.
- Delivering the course(s) as described in the course outline; updating course outlines to current standards.
- Ensuring the integrity of the content being delivered is upheld.
- Posting online content, facilitating student discussion groups, monitoring the LMS and responding electronically to students within 24 hours.
- Evaluating student progress against the learning outcomes.
- Maintaining records, course materials and utilizing Mohawk data systems for grading, course updates etc.
- Ensuring adherence to Mohawk College’s Policies and Procedures at all times.
What you’ll bring to the role:
- Relevant Trade Certification and/or Post-Secondary Diploma/Degree in course subject area.
- 3 – 5 years industry experience in relevant industry.
- 3 – 5 years Post-secondary teaching/training and/or experience.
- Updated First Aid certification.
- Basic computer knowledge in MS Office, Calendaring, Internet research and e-mail correspondence.
- Familiarity with learning management systems would be considered a strong asset.
- Online teaching or learning experience would be considered a strong asset.
- Excellent written and communication skills.
- Demonstrated commitment and understanding of human rights, equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility.
- The ability to communicate and work effectively with diverse students, employees, and communities.
