Pourtant, les personnes en emploi et en recherche d&#8217;emploi issu\u00b7es de ces communaut\u00e9s, en particulier les personnes nouvellement arriv\u00e9es et migrantes, se heurtent souvent \u00e0 des barri\u00e8res syst\u00e9miques qui limitent leurs possibilit\u00e9s de reconnaissance et d&#8217;avancement. Trop souvent, elles sont per\u00e7ues comme des recrues \u00ab non conventionnelles \u00bb ou voient leur carri\u00e8re frein\u00e9e malgr\u00e9 leurs comp\u00e9tences.<\/p>\n<p>SPARK est \u00e0 la fois une c\u00e9l\u00e9bration et un appel \u00e0 l&#8217;action. Cet \u00e9v\u00e8nement est consacr\u00e9 au d\u00e9mant\u00e8lement de ces barri\u00e8res et \u00e0 la valorisation du potentiel immense et m\u00e9connu des personnes 2SLGBTQIA+ nouvellement arriv\u00e9es et migrantes. principalement grandi \u00e0 Santiago, au Chili. En tant qu\u2019avocat\u00b7e chilien\u00b7ne, Aleks se sp\u00e9cialise dans les droits de la personne, la sant\u00e9 et les droits sexuels et reproductifs, les droits LGBTQI+ et les droits des personnes r\u00e9fugi\u00e9es. Aleks est titulaire d\u2019un LL.M. de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Toronto et occupe actuellement le poste de codirection g\u00e9n\u00e9rale de Rainbow Refugee. Aleks a \u00e9galement \u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e0 la pr\u00e9sidence du Conseil canadien pour les r\u00e9fugi\u00e9s et est actuellement membre du comit\u00e9 ex\u00e9cutif. Aleks copr\u00e9side aussi From Borders to Belonging, une coalition pancanadienne de solidarit\u00e9 avec les personnes LGBTQI r\u00e9fugi\u00e9es et demandeuses d\u2019asile.<\/p>\n<p>Auparavant, Aleks a travaill\u00e9 comme direction des programmes pour les personnes r\u00e9fugi\u00e9es LGBTQ+ et comme responsable signataire d\u2019entente de parrainage (SEP) pour la Metropolitan Community Church de Toronto. Aleks a \u00e9galement occup\u00e9 diverses fonctions au Fonds d\u2019action et d\u2019\u00e9ducation juridiques pour les femmes (FAEJ), \u00e0 l\u2019Association pour les droits des femmes dans le d\u00e9veloppement, puis au Programme international sur le droit de la sant\u00e9 reproductive et sexuelle de la Facult\u00e9 de droit de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Toronto.<\/p>\n<p>Son travail consiste \u00e0 simplifier les voies d\u2019acc\u00e8s \u00e0 la protection pour les personnes r\u00e9fugi\u00e9es et \u00e0 cocr\u00e9er des communaut\u00e9s d\u2019appartenance pour les personnes ayant des orientations sexuelles, des identit\u00e9s de genre, des expressions de genre et des caract\u00e9ristiques sexuelles diverses (SOGIESC). Aleks con\u00e7oit des programmes et services pour les personnes LGBTQI+ demandeuses d\u2019asile, demandeuses de statut de r\u00e9fugi\u00e9, ou r\u00e9fugi\u00e9es, et d\u00e9fend les droits des personnes r\u00e9fugi\u00e9es \u00e0 diff\u00e9rents paliers de gouvernement, tant \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle locale qu\u2019internationale. Son militantisme est n\u00e9 alors qu\u2019elle \u00e9tudiait le journalisme et les arts de la communication, ce qui l\u2019a amen\u00e9e \u00e0 s\u2019engager aupr\u00e8s d\u2019organisations LGBTQIA+ dans la r\u00e9gion MENA et dans le monde entier. Son exp\u00e9rience v\u00e9cue et son travail dans les m\u00e9dias et le secteur \u00e0 but non lucratif l\u2019ont aid\u00e9e \u00e0 faire conna\u00eetre les enjeux LGBTQIA+ dans le monde entier. Depuis son d\u00e9m\u00e9nagement \u00e0 Vancouver, elle poursuit sa lutte en faveur des droits de la communaut\u00e9 trans. Elle a travaill\u00e9 comme coordinatrice des commandites \u00e0 Rainbow Refugee, comme facilitatrice pour les pairs \u00e0 Mosaic et comme coformatrice \u00e0 QMUNITY.
