What you’ll do
- a dedicated focus on improving data security, maintaining database integrity, and contributing to geospatial projects.
- Own the development and management of application databases using Oracle technologies, ensuring efficient security and performance.
- Establish robust Oracle database security measures, including Transparent Data Encryption (TDE) and Oracle Key Vault.
- Collaborate with multi-functional teams to integrate secure data practices into business processes.
- Analyze data and deliver actionable insights to support business strategies.
- Manage Oracle DBA tasks, including performance tuning, troubleshooting, and system optimization.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, designs, and procedures.
- Keep tabs on emerging Oracle database management trends, technologies, and standard methodologies.
- Mentor junior team members, providing technical guidance and support.
- Enhance data storage and retrieval processes to improve system efficiency.
- Ensure alignment to data governance and security policies across all database systems.
- Contribute in project planning and review meetings to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
What You Bring to the Role
- Minimum 10 years of proven expertise with Oracle DBA Security Administration and Oracle Admin.
- Solid grasp of geospatial concepts and technologies.
- Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and database optimization techniques.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to collaborate optimally within an inclusive work setting.
- Good communication and social skills.
- Familiarity with GIS software and tools is an added bonus.
Working arrangements

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is an Onsite position requiring 2 days a week in a client office in Halifax, NS or Mississauga, ON. Canada.
