Reporting to the Product Owner, SMG & Emerging Acceptance Options, the Product Intern, Debit Growth & Enablement will be front and center in the design and delivery of products and solutions that give Canadians control over their money so they can get more out of life. This opportunity will drive innovative commerce solutions such as open payments for transit systems, or making advancements in new areas like identity verification and open banking.
You’ll be responsible for:
Providing support in product backlog decomposition, ensuring that all PBIs track towards achieving the stated objectives and key results.
Learning to leverage multiple data points to help define the product roadmap in close partnership with the Product Owner.
Supporting the cross-functional development team in ensuring that Product Backlog Items (PBIs) have adequate detail to facilitate squads in estimating their work.
Assisting in developing presentations/business cases that support senior management in articulating findings and recommendations to key stakeholders.
Partnering with marketing and sales to shape the solutions the product squad is developing.
Supporting a seasoned Product Manager in conducting market research and partnering with the Strategy team to leverage available research, to identify industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive landscape at the product and/or squad level.
In conjunction with a seasoned Product Manager, define and articulate User Personas to help the product development team understand the needs, motivations, goals, behaviours, and preferences of the target audience.
You bring:
You are currently completing an undergraduate degree from an accredited Canadian post-secondary institution with a focus on Business, or a similar program.
You have a clear passion for technology, willingness to learn and go deep with new innovative tech trends.
Comfortable creating and presenting business cases, developing strategic plans, and synthesizing complex problems into clear, actionable insights using PowerPoint presentations.
You enjoy structuring and communicating ideas in a visually compelling and strategic format to guide decision-making.
Knowledge of Agile & Scrum environments, and you are able to thrive within a highly collaborative team environment and are eager to learn and work beyond the responsibilities of this role
Analytical thinking and an ability to deliver actionable recommendations in a timely manner
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, ability to inspect and adapt in service of continuous improvement
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present ideas clearly and effectively.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, modeling, and reporting, and expertise in Microsoft PowerPoint for creating compelling presentations and visualizing complex information.
Basic understanding of financial products, digital payment systems, or related technologies.
Understanding that success is in the details. You notice things that others don't. Your critical thinking skills help to inform your decision making
Although not required, you have some familiarity or previous experience with the following:
Product management experience
Experience in primary and/ or secondary research
Pricing and financial analysis, and/or consulting
Basic working understanding of Agile.
