Technical Product Analyst Intern

Reporting to the Leader, Product Management, the Technical Product Analyst Intern will be helping define the product roadmap and bring our vision to life working with a cross-functional team of engineers, designers, program managers, and other product owners.
You’ll be responsible for:
Assisting Product Managers to define product features and expand on user stories for prioritized features.
Assisting Product Managers to disseminate information at industry workshops, for example, through a deck or a write-up.
Working with our teams to shape the design of APIs for long-term value and evolve them to meet the client needs – you will be responsible for defining, documenting, and refining requirements.
Helping explore and demonstrate the benefits of tooling for API delivery, documentation, and testing in one of the most exciting business domains – payments.
Participating in work sessions with Interac's customers, i.e. banks and credit unions, to understand their requirements.
Collaborating with the product team and software engineers with various projects by helping keep track of development issues, communicating priorities and solve various problems as they arise
You bring:
An understanding an experience with API and system design
The ability to give meaning to data. You enjoy researching, identifying trends and insights into problems, investigating complex problems and making sense of information.
You are a proactive problem-solver with a demonstrated track record of driving continuous improvement initiatives – you get into new topics quickly, enjoy learning the fundamentals and leverage it to achieve the best outcomes with cross-functional teams
Confidence in your ability to communicate technical and non-technical detailed information in an impactful way – you can conceptualize, manage and prioritize features
Understanding that success is in the details. You notice things that others don't. Your critical thinking skills help to inform your decision making.
Strong organizational and time management skills with demonstrated ability to simultaneously manage multiple high-complexity projects
Currently completing an undergraduate degree from a creditable Canadian institution with a focus on Engineering, Systems Designs, Computer Science or similar field
Understanding and familiarity with tools like Figma, Jira or Tableau
Although not required, you have some familiarity or previous experience with the following:
Proven experience working directly with technology teams to implement systemic improvements
Technical fluency; comfort understanding and discussing technology concepts, schedule tradeoffs and new opportunities with technical team members.
Previous experience or knowledge in payments – or at minimum interest
