Join a dynamic and resourceful team where you can take on new challenges at a 137,000 barrel per day refinery that produces gasoline, distillates, asphalt, heavy fuel oil, petrochemicals, solvents and lubricant feedstock.We are currently recruiting for a Process Engineer to join our process engineering teams. In this position, you will initially work in the Process Engineering Department and eventually join the Production Engineering Department. You will collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Inspection, Production Control, Automation and other departments to accomplish various tasks related to process engineering.
Minimum Requirements:
Fluent in French, with functional written and spoken English; please submit your resume in FRENCH
1 to 5 years of experience as an engineer in an industrial environment
Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering
Member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements
Knowledge of process simulation software such as Aspen Hysys, Pipeflo, HTRI would be considered an asset
Experience in the petrochemical industry would be an asset
Responsibilities:
Develop process design solutions for refinery systems
Perform/review engineering calculations (ex: hydraulic, control valve sizing) during all project phases including feasibility, identification and evaluation of alternatives, conceptual design, detailed engineering, construction, and start-up
Participate in the commissioning of projects and their transfer to operations
Develop process simulations (HYSYS) to evaluate or validate process design
Contribute to the improvement of work processes and procedures
Ensure compliance of our activities with applicable laws and regulations, corporate standards and best practices in the industry.
Write and/or ensure the update and quality of engineering documents under the responsibility of the Process Engineering Department (P&ID's, PFD's, documents related to pressure vessels and safety valves)
Carry out mandates related to operational safety (PHA, What-if, survey, DOW indices, IEC calculations, RBI data)
Follow-up of mass balances to improve models
Evaluate the performance of process equipment (pumps, exchangers, furnaces, etc.)
Perform field operation surveys
Location and other Key Details:
You will be working at our Montreal refinery, located at 11701 Sherbrooke Street East
Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs
