Position Summary
Reporting to the Associate Director, HR Services, the Manager, Systems provides leadership in advancing our strategic vision to optimize HR systems and ensure excellence in data management and operational efficiency. This role is responsible for analyzing, researching, and refining HR software system processes to support strategic goals. The Manager develops, updates, and maintains a centralized, institution-wide HR database, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and productivity in records and database maintenance. Additionally, this role oversees system enhancements and operational planning while promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion throughout all HR operations and practices.
Here's What You’ll Do
Systems and Data Management
• Resolves systems issues by investigating issues and provides summary report to system team to solve systems issues and ensure effective use of systems in daily operations
• Analyzes and interprets data to ensure data integrity and to support systems functions, business process, protocols and standards
• Develops and apply changes to systems and processes as applicable
• Liaises with the systems team and the IT department to plan, design, implement, test fixes and create enhancement
Business Process
• Analyzes, research and reviews process and procedures to ensure consistent, effective and timely decisions
• Recommends long and short-term plans in relation to new initiatives, policies and procedures to support daily operations in the department
• Makes recommendations for systems and business process improvements
Reporting and Analysis
• Develops, gathers and analyzes data and reports and shares with applicable stakeholders to assist high level decision making
• Develops reporting protocols and standards and oversees reporting requirements in accordance with Seneca policies, legislation and collective agreements
Project Management
• Collaborates with project teams to determine business requirements, resolve issues and translates key business requirements to functional deliverables from the design stage to implementation
• Manages, plans and executes system enhancements and contributes to the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the system
• Evaluates and prioritizes system enhancement requests and production fixes while ensuring compliance with legislative regulations, security standards, HR data governance policies and collective agreements.
What You Bring to Seneca
· Five (5) years of experience in HR Systems, specifically experience in Time & Labour and Absence Management an asset.
· PeopleSoft experience required
· Post Secondary Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Data Information, Business Administration, or any other related field; or an equivalent combination of training and experience
