Provides strategic support for the International Banking Portfolio Management Office (IB PMO) function in International Banking Finance. The incumbent is responsible for contributing to the goals, governance, and execution of strategic initiatives in the IB Portfolio. This position is a key governance function where the main responsibility and focus of the incumbent is around the development and continuous enhancement of reporting processes, tools, and achievement of KPIs implemented by the EPMO office. Extensive experience in project management, along with the use of presentation/analytical tools, and adaptability to a rapidly changing environment, is required.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
- Portfolio governance and monitoring by working closely with Project Managers to ensure compliance in terms of health, risks, issues, dependencies, and adherence to the Enterprise Management Policy across all IB projects while recommending mitigations for non-compliance findings.
- Management and facilitation of monthly dashboard reviews, including coordinating and managing the agenda for monthly meetings, publishing meeting minutes, and tracking progress and action items through to completion.
- Collaborate on the delivery of the portfolio prioritization methodology by:
- Assessing opportunity areas.
- Conducting reviews to prioritize the portfolio based on alignment with the Bank’s strategic priorities.
- Support the implementation and management of portfolio management methodologies by acting as a trusted advisor and liaison with leaders and teams across Enterprise Governance, Enterprise Strategy, and Local/Country Portfolio Management Offices, as well as Delivery/Project Managers.
- Develop a risk-based framework for testing adherence and measuring project health.
- Contribute to identifying and addressing change requirements for processes and initiatives to improve IB’s business performance.
- Manage the maintenance and deployment of the portfolio management tool (CA PPM) and processes to provide a reliable, controlled environment for project and portfolio reporting, including:
- Supporting internal operational processes required for portfolio integrity (e.g., metadata)
- Monitoring and managing the financial aspects of the portfolio, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. Ensure projects are delivered within budget and financial targets are met.
- Directly contributing to the production of monthly/quarterly portfolio reporting as required.
- Support and encourage a customer-focused culture across the team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
- Support the TSA process for regional projects.
- Develop day-to-day activities in a manner consistent with the Bank’s risk culture and the relevant risk appetite statement and limits.
- Ad-hoc requests as assigned.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Project Management, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of experience in project management, portfolio management, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in governance and compliance within a financial services environment.
- Proven track record of managing complex projects and portfolios, including risk management and strategic planning.
- Experience with portfolio management tools (e.g., CA PPM, PeopleSoft, Microsoft Project, JIRA).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) and Power BI.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or Program Management Professional (PgMP) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI).
- Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or Certified Scrum Professional (CSP) for those with experience in agile environments.
