About the role
We are looking for an IT Project Governance Advisor to join our growing team within the IT Business Office. Responsible for developing and implementing governance policies and practices for technology projects, the governance advisor ensures the company's regulatory compliance and supports project managers and project teams throughout the lifecycle of their initiatives.
Reporting to the Manager, Transformation Enablement and IT Project Governance, and as a member of a collaborative team, the ideal candidate challenges the status quo, builds strong relationships, and confidently leads initiatives that support the project execution teams in Information technology.
What you will do:
Develop and update IT project governance policies, processes, and standards.
Ensure project compliance with internal and external regulations.
Monitor project risks and the implementation of mitigation measures.
Ensure the application of project management best practices.
Provide advice and support to project managers and project teams regarding governance standards.
Organize training and workshops to strengthen project governance skills within the organization.
Propose continuous improvements to optimize governance and project management processes.
Develop and update templates (project artifacts) used throughout the project lifecycle and transition to operations.
Build strong interpersonal relationships with peers and other key stakeholders.
Contribute to the evolution of the Project Management Community of Practice.
What you need:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, business administration, or any combination of equivalent training and experience.
At least 5 years of experience in IT project and/or program governance.
PMP certification (asset).
Bilingualism (French and English) - Need to interact regularly with colleagues across the country.
Knowledge and experience of project delivery and application development methodologies (Agile and waterfall frameworks).
Previous experience in organizational change management and driving enterprise-wide process improvement initiatives.
Previous experience in providing support and training services to various stakeholders at different levels of the organization.
Technical training in software development or business analysis, an asset.
Proven ability to collaborate and work in a team.
Innovative and creative person with strong critical thinking.
Highly motivated, autonomous, and able to work independently.
Proven facilitation and communication skills.
No Canadian work experience required, but authorization to work in Canada required.
