Adecco is currently recruiting for a Graphic Designer-Production Technician. This is full time permanent role. This role is onsite in their downtown location (Ottawa, ON).
Our client is a prominent Canadian franchise with a network of over 43 locations nationwide. Serving a diverse clientele for more than two decades, spanning private sector, government, high-tech, and small businesses. They specialize in offering online procurement management tools, promotional items, and cutting-edge print technology to facilitate cross-platform variable data marketing campaigns.
The Graphic Designer. Production Technician will have the following responsibilities:
Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the printing process, artwork, dockets, and timelines for each process.
Familiarity with various types of paper and print terminology.
Efficiently organize workflow from docket write-up to finishing.
Conduct quality inspections of printed jobs.
Accurately estimate printing costs for each process
Handle customer inquiries, orders, and quotations.
Collaborate with clients to conceptualize and develop creative solutions that meet their objectives and budget constraints.
Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in graphic design and printing.
Maintain accurate records of project details, including specifications, revisions, and client feedback.
Assist with marketing efforts by creating visually appealing promotional materials for the Ottawa location.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal processes and procedures related to graphic design and print production.
The Graphic Designer. Production Technician must meet the following mandatory requirements:
College diploma in graphic design or print technology.
Minimum of 6 months of experience or equivalent.
Strong portfolio showcasing print-focused projects.
Proficiency in a PC environment.
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
Knowledge of web design is an asset.
Customer service-oriented with the ability to effectively communicate with external service providers.
Proven track record of working under tight deadlines and managing simultaneous projects.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to lead projects from concept to final production.
Collaborative team player with a goal-oriented mindset.
Proficiency in French language
Proficiency in prepress techniques, including color correction, image retouching, and file preparation for print.
Experience with print finishing techniques, such as binding, laminating, cutting, scoring, and folding.
Familiarity with digital asset management systems for organizing and archiving design files.
Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices for designing inclusive print materials.
Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for typography, layout, and design aesthetics
