This opportunity is with our Good Shepherd - Seniors' Support Services
Reporting to the Director the Clinical Program Nursing Manager will provide leadership and oversight to interdisciplinary teams in a unionized environment, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, client-centered care. The team will consist of PSWs, Nurses and other professional staff.
How You Will Make an Impact
This role combines strategic leadership, operational management, understanding of privacy legislation and the opportunity to lead impactful projects such as accreditation and quality assurance initiatives.
Client care is at the heart of this role. You will support the development and monitoring of client-centered service plans, clinical targets, reporting, conduct reassessments to ensure evolving needs are met, and maintain open communication to optimize care delivery. By engaging with community partners and representing the program at local events, you'll enhance care services and build lasting connections that benefit clients and the organization alike.
This role also involves engaging with community partners to enhance service delivery, representing the organization at local events, and contributing to management working groups and committees. On-call responsibilities are required as part of this role.
You will lead recruitment efforts to build a strong team and support staff performance through supervision, coaching, and feedback. In addition, you will maintain policies, prepare for accreditation, and track program utilization metrics. Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach are essential to ensure optimal team functioning and client care.
In addition, administrative responsibilities include overseeing scheduling, payroll management, supply tracking, and program statistics. You'll also participate in stakeholder meetings, lead accreditation efforts, and ensure adherence to collective agreements. Through your leadership, you'll cultivate a collaborative, inclusive team environment, driving positive outcomes for staff and clients alike.
What You'll Bring to Our Team
- Minimum 2 years' management or administrative leadership experience in the health care sector with relevant levels of responsibilities. Including experience leading interdisciplinary teams, regulated and unregulated healthcare staff.
- A diploma, degree or certificate from an accredited institution in health or a related-field or education that is related but not specific, combined with related work experience. Nursing leadership experience preferred.
- Experience with community partners to enhance service delivery, representing the organization at local events.
- Experience in the care sector with progressive responsibilities, including leading interdisciplinary teams and managing regulated and unregulated healthcare staff.
- Experience working in a unionized environment is a strong asset.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with a proven ability to mentor, motivate, and manage staff to achieve optimal results.
- Standard First Aid/CPR certification and WHMIS training.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment and apply creativity and flexibility to solve complex problems.
- Strong ability to work collaboratively, sharing expertise and leveraging the strengths of others.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills with a hospitable and compassionate approach to clients, staff, and stakeholders.
- Exceptional organizational and planning skills with a detail-oriented mindset.
- Experience in implementing new processes and driving successful change.
- Comfort with computers, including proficiency in the MS Office suite.
- Actively fosters a healthy, inclusive, and supportive workplace culture.
- Adheres to health and safety regulations, including Good Shepherd health and safety policies and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Access to a reliable vehicle and a valid driver's license is a strong asset.
