As part of the Global Functions Technology (GFT) within RBC's Technology and Operations division, you'll be at the heart of a team that extends its services across the organization, offering IT solutions that drive transformation and efficiency. Joining our Finance IT Data Management team, you'll play a crucial role in overseeing Test Implementation and Test Automation on our cutting-edge Big Data Platform. This role involves working with the latest technologies and programming languages such as Cloudera, Spark, Scala, Unix, SQL, Python, and leveraging DevOps Containerization applications.
Your primary responsibility will be to lead the team in enhancing QE Automation for our diverse client groups, alongside managing test execution. This position offers a unique chance to showcase and further develop your technical and architectural expertise, as well as your leadership capabilities, all while delivering IT solutions in a fast-paced and ever-changing business landscape.
What will you do?
Support overall quality engineering strategy, accountable for developing and executing functional testing as well as build automation implementations for the ecosystem/program
Establish and drive strategic and tactical QE initiatives, drive the implementation of the QE Automation Program and overall QE Automation process and standards
Manage and build a high performing diverse team that leverages individual capabilities & strengths, Ensures adequate training and tools to deliver objectives
Accountable for maximizing automation for all project functional testing deliverables in portfolio
Responsible for following and developing defined processes and tools and alignment with overall QE strategy and framework
Responsible for providing accurate and detailed quality status to project team and stakeholders
Single point of accountability for the success of programs assigned with respect to testing automation. Accountable for teams managing the Test Implementations, Test Environments and Test Data Management.
Partner with Application Development Directors to integrate quality engineering mindset/concepts within the DevOps framework/pipeline
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have:
Degree in Computer Science or equivalent with 5+ years of related experience and 2+ years of lead experience
Experience in a variety of test automation tools (Robot Framework, Selenium, Jenkins)
Script development using scripting languages. Primarily in Unix (Shell Scripting) , Python (Pandas, Pycharm), and SQL, Tableau
Hands-on experience with Big Data related testing (HDFS, Hive, CDP, Spark), including Data Ingestion and Enrichment using automated tools.
Strong Communication skills together with Test Automation vision and leadership skills for innovation.
Nice-to-have:
Experience reviewing artefacts including code reviews (application and test automation scripts)
Experience using SDLC, QE and DevOps tools (JIRA, GitHub, Jenkins, UrbanCodeDeploy, qTest, Ansible Automation etc.
Hands-on knowledge and experience on Data masking technologies.
QA implementations using Agile methodology
